On this night...We Remember


It's been a while since I have updated my journal so I thought I would post an update and wish everyone a Blessed Samhain! The wheel of the year has made a rotation back to the beginning again, and we celebrate the third harvest of the year. Samhain is the time when we honor those that have passed on before us and remember our ancestors. Every year I honor my wolf hybrid Draco who passed in 2003 and every year it gets a little easier to talk about him. While I am honoring him yet again this year, I am also honoring my Uncle who passed in May. The man had a rough life and even through all the shit he went through, he still managed to keep a smile on his face and make light of even the most serious of situations. Everytime I asked him how he was doing, his responce was "I was better, but I got over it." :) He loved showing off his posessions and was an active member of the 'Sons of Confederate Veterans'. An ex-biker, ex-army medic and die hard stoner to the day he died, the man never met a stranger and left a mark on everyone he met. He was technologically challenged so far that he thought you had to rewind a DVD but somehow managed to have more advanced technology than most of the people I know.

We had our disagreements, but one thing remains true...He is missed, loved and remembered.



Samhain is a time of rebirth, release, renewal and new beginnings. That is exactly what I is happening for me this Samhain. I'm not going into details on here, but I am going to be experiencing a really intense shift in my personal and spiritual life this Samhain. I look forward to it with a cautious trepidation, and an open mind and heart. Whatever the goddess has planned for me this year, I embrace with open arms and a willingness to learn.



Blessed Samhain everyone. I hope this Samhain is filled with new beginnings and renewal for each of you. May we honor those who have passed on before us, remember the lessons we have learned from them and may the coming year be filled with blessings of abundance and love for each of you. :)
